About FFW
Sometimes being a mom means you get caught up in two things: work and parenting. It’s very easy to get lost in the roles that we play and forget to take time to play. That’s why I love to travel and have made traveling a priority for me and my family.
If you juggle work, family and just live for the weekend…. grab a cup of coffee and let’s chat!
You want to take a Walt Disney World vacation, but don’t know where to start? I’m your girl!
If you want to get away, but don’t think you can afford it or don’t know how to start planning? Let’s be friends!
We all need a break sometimes.
If you slog through your work days waiting for the weekend…waiting for that much-needed R&R —
Consider FlipFlopWeekend as my gift to you — it’s my express written permission to take time, get away and be with your family!
You can take a Disney vacation, you can travel with your husband and you can spend quality time together on a budget.
You need to do these things and I want to show you how.
“Sure, Keri, that sounds great…but who the heck are you?”
Originally born and raised in Pennsylvania, my husband and I spent 8 years in Indiana before trading in snow for palm trees and officially becoming Floridians. I work full-time as a school counselor and am currently finishing up a Master’s Degree. Yep…and I still make travel happen! My husband is a high school math teacher and we have two awesome kiddos, Josiah and Jessie, who love helping me ‘research’ for the blog…especially on our Disney weekends.
We live just outside of Orlando and are Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, my husband is a former cast member. We are at Disney nearly every weekend, so you can say we know our way around.
But, in the summers and on holidays, we like to get away. I was able to go to Russia when I was 16 and have traveled ever since. On educator’s salaries— I had to learn to plan our globetrotting on a budget.
I had a lot of folks asking me for Disney tips or how I plan our trips… so, I decided to put my Communication degree to use and create FlipFlopWeekend as a travel resource for those of you, like me, who don’t have the luxury of unlimited vacation time ( or an unlimited bank account).
So, if you have a wanderlust spirit, don’t let time and money stop you. If we can make it work, anyone can.

I hope you find FlipFlopWeekend to be a valuable source for Disney tips, Central Florida attractions, general travel tips and inspiration to relax and spend more time with your family.
