Have a Professional Family Photo Shoot At Walt Disney World
Not too long ago, I was able to collaborate with Heather Hinson, of Hinson Photography, who wrote a guest piece for my blog on the best ways to enjoy New Smyrna Beach.
Heather and her husband, Jon, are photographers who have built a business on primarily beach photography. She reached out and asked if we would be interested in volunteering our time to model at Disney for their portfolio as they are expanding their business to help families get amazing professional family photos taken at Walt Disney World.
I was thrilled that she asked and admittedly felt a bit like this:
It’s important for me to comment that the Hinsons did not initially ask for anything from us other than our time. I volunteered to write this post for them and they provided us our photo package for free. So, I suppose you can call this a semi-sponsored post.
These amazing photos were my compensation and I was thrilled at how they turned out.
But, wait… can’t you get family photos done at Walt Disney World through Disney?
You can. And to disclose, I have never actually done it, so if it fits better for your budget or time, go for it. I will say that Disney session packages are listed to only be 20 minutes, whereas Jon and Heather will carve out 1 to 2 hours to make sure your photo shoot is capturing what you want.
Heather met with me personally and via phone to discuss ideal locations and outfits.
We chose the Grand Floridian and opted for a mix of dressy and Disney-fied attire.
Jon and Heather were so incredibly patient and professional, especially when we were 30 minutes late because I-4 was…well…I-4.
Though the formal pictures turned out great, I absolutely adore the casual Disney photos, especially of little Jessie in her Princess Rapunzel gear ( complete with Pascal)

They offered amazing suggestions for some great shots and paid attention and let us give some input when we said there were shots we would like to get.

With Jon and Heather, everything is custom.
They specialize in fine art prints and museum-quality canvas, but digital prints like these are available, as well.
Jon and Heather will work with you personally to select portraits for your package and will work around your vacation schedule.
They were easy to communicate with by phone when we had to reschedule our original session date and determine whether we were going to dodge raindrops or not on photo day.
We opted to go for it, as the clouds suggest, but I still love how they turned out.
You can book a photo session as far out as you’d like, though one month in advance is usually a good time-frame to call.
However, don’t be afraid to call at the last minute to try. Jon and Heather will work you in if they can and are very flexible.
